Professional Development Nights

Dr. Deborah M. Gill, Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and Author, shares on Spiritual Formation — how to do it and why it matters to us as women ministers.

The presentation was held at a NWM Professional Development Night held in Springfield, MO in April 2019.

Donna Barrett, AG General Secretary, shares on Leadership, Mentorship, and her personal story. What skills do women need to cultivate and what steps need to be taken to go to the next place in ministry — a practical and inspired conversation.

The presentation was held at a NWM Professional Development Night held in Springfield, MO in October 2018.

Table Questions:

  • When you look at a leadership role above where you are now, whether that might be lead pastor, sectional presbyter, manager where you now serve, what skills need developed for you to step into that role?

  • Make a list of the people you spend the most time with (your circle of influence). how many are peers, how many are proteges, how many are mentors? As a growing leader, what might you want to adjust about your circle?

  • When you reflect on how you participated over the last 12 months at your district council and sectional meetings, did your involvement send a message of “there’s an up and coming leader!”? What elements do you think send that message?

  • What are a few things you know now that you wish you would have known when you were first starting out in ministry?
